Project summary
Optimization of the Shipping and Product Receiving Process. We adjusted and optimized the form management functionality associated with production orders, integrating specific cases for the Tecnosur organization. This development enabled the customization of workflows, aligning them with the unique operational needs of the company. As a result, we achieved greater efficiency in shipping and product receiving processes, improving traceability, reducing operational times, and strengthening control at each stage of the production cycle. This solution stood out for its tailored approach and its direct impact on organizational productivity.
Context
Tecnoquímicas S.A. is one of Colombia’s most prominent and traditional multinational enterprises (multilatinas) in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, agricultural, and institutional product industries. Founded in 1934 and headquartered in Cali, Valle del Cauca, it has evolved from a local distributor into a manufacturing and commercial giant with a presence across several Latin American countries.
Challenge
The primary challenge consisted of managing the integration of multiple external systems, such as Delta, EBS, and Kardex, utilizing SOA services and integration flows developed in DataStage by external vendors. This process required guaranteeing optimal interoperability between heterogeneous platforms, aligning different technologies, and ensuring efficiency in the shipping and product receiving processes.
Through a strategic approach and effective coordination, this challenge was successfully overcome, consolidating a cohesive operating environment that strengthened the organization’s critical processes—thereby establishing a success story in technological integration and operational optimization.
Solution
The challenge was resolved through the following actions:
· Effective Collaboration with External Vendors: Fluid and coordinated communication channels were established with the teams responsible for developing the DataStage integrations and SOA services. This ensured that the delivered solutions were fully compatible with the technical requirements of the core system.
· Rigorous Testing and Technical Validation: Exhaustive tests were conducted to ensure that integrations with external systems, such as Delta, EBS, and Kardex, met the established standards and processed data accurately and reliably.
· Advanced Management of Technical Complexity: Challenges associated with differences in data formats, communication protocols, and response times between systems were successfully resolved, achieving a seamless and efficient integration that optimized shipping and product receiving processes.
· This strategic approach enabled us to overcome a significant technical challenge, consolidating a robust and functional technological ecosystem. The solution not only guaranteed system interoperability but also enhanced operational efficiency, positioning this project as a success story in enterprise technology integration.
